Hey All!

The sun is finally out in Denmark, with the promise of spring on the way. At least I don’t need to wear a hat or gloves anymore, which I am super happy about! And it means that glitter manicures really get a chance to shine!

I do apologize for delays in my posting — I’m trying to get used to my new job, and have found that my energy levels are currently not high enough to commit to 2 manicures a week. I am trying to get better, though!

For this manicure I used: Max Factor Glossfinity Burgundy Crush, and Depend Rough Sparkle Collection Poppy, along with some MoYou Rhinestones I found on Amazon.co.uk.

Burgundy Crush is pretty true to its name: the color is best described as burgundy or carmine. Poppy is a lit-from-within red textured glitter which also shines gold, I’ve reviewed the Depend Rough Sparkle Collection before. Both colors are fully opaque in two easy coats, with Burgundy Crush nearly only needing one for full opacity.

I started off with two easy coats of Burgundy Crush, then I sponged on Poppy to create a gradient, starting close to my cuticles and tapering off before the ends of my nails. I then applied the MoYou rhinestones and some glitter hearts I had lying around (I can’t for the life of me remember where I got them).

Please excuse my dry cuticles! Cleaning up a red manicure is really a PITA, and I really dried my hands out trying to get all the polish off! Overall, I’m happy with how these turned out! I think they look discreet enough from a distance to be work-appropriate (if you can get away with red nail polish at work) and when you get closer you can really see the sparkle!

What do you think? Have you tried Burgundy Crush or Poppy yet?

Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
