A winter manicure inspired by the night sky.
Much to my dismay, winter really is on its way. 😉
While being outside from November to… March(ish) in Denmark is super cold and really not fun fashion-wise (say goodbye to chunky rings, as they don’t fit under your gloves; and your lovely long hanging earrings that threaten to rip off your ear when they get caught in your scarf if you do try wear them!) it can be a really beautiful season. I took my inspiration from a winter night sky:For this manicure I used Essie Mezmerised and Depend Rough Sparkle Forget Me Not Nr. 2065, as well as some rhinestones from this pack that I purchased off Amazon.co.uk.
I used one coat of Mezmerised. Yes, you read that correctly: one coat. This polish has everything I love about Essie when they make a great polish: self-leveling, great formula (seriously, opaque in ONE coat!), and a true royal blue that doesn’t look black or neon somehow.Once that coat had dried, I sponged on Forget Me Not with a make-up sponge to create a gradient — dabbing the glitter a little higher than I normally do, to make a shooting star effect. Once that was in place, I put my rhinestones on, and sealed the whole manicure off with Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Fast Dry Top Coat. I love the effect of these two colors together, I even played around with this design, before settling on a night sky:
What do you think? What’s your favorite part about winter?
