A ‘deep sky blue’ crème formula that is almost opaque in one coat.  This color is awesome! I’ve had some interesting experiences with Sally Hansen colors before – and although the main offenders were yellow and orange colors, which are notorious for having terrible formulas across the board, it did make me a bit more hesitant about Sally Hansen nail polish. I loved being proven wrong. So wrong. Blue Me Away! (130) is such a happy color, though it’s hard to capture on camera.

The polish also lives up to its ‘xtreme wear’ name, since it didn’t show any signs of chipping on my nails until day three, and I’ve seen reviews by others claiming that it lasted up to 1 ½ weeks on their nails! Like many blues, greens and darker colors, it does have a tendency to stain your nails, so wear a base coat! But for color payoff like this, it’s worth it!

For the accent nail, I used (901) Kaboom from Salon Perfect’s Neon Collision Collection. Salon Perfect comes from the makers of China Glaze, but their polishes are exclusively sold at Walmart, so for non-US readers this may be a bit hard to grab a hold of. I happened to have a lovely friend (<3) who picked this beauty up for me, along with the other polishes featured in this post, while she was visiting the US.

In the picture below, I have Kaboom over Essie Licorice (black) to really make the colors stand out.

Kaboom is a mash-up of neon turquoise and yellow matte glitter, suspended in a clear base. I chose to layer this over Blue Me Away! using two coats, but I reckon you could reach full opacity with this eye-catcher.

Its formula is really quite lovely and you don’t have to work to spread the glitter pieces on your nail evenly, it does have a gritty texture once dried – this can be combated with some top coat, if you don’t mind losing out on the matte aspect. As someone used to textured polish, I’m not bothered by this.

What do you think? Have you tried either color before?
